Machinery of Government changes
The LSC will cease to exist from 2010 as a result of provisions in the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill 2008-09. Funding for young people (16-18) currently within the remit of the LSC will be transferred to local authorities and a new national body - the Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA) will support these new arrangements. Funding of adult skills (19-Plus) from 2010 will become the responsibility of another new national body, the Skills Funding Agency (SFA).
